Pressure from the Nitrogen Booster Skid is forced into the force actuator at 1400 psi. generating over 1,390,000 pounds of force. This force pushes against the bottom drum flange uniformly loading the gasket. At the same time the force ring is pushed away from the cover, placing all the retaining bolts in tension. This pressure is then released after the ramp ring and ramps are engaged.
